Top 10 Leather Care Tips

Top 10 Leather Care Tips

1) Leather can and should last a lifetime if you take good care of it.

2) Ideally condition leather once a season - more if it's extra "thirsty" or gets a lot of use.

3) Wipe off any extra dirt with a damp cloth and allow leather item to dry.

4) Apply a thin coat of leather conditioner - the best leather care products are made from naturally occurring hard waxes and resins.  Snowshoe Leather Conditioner contains beeswax and pine resin and protects, conditions, and restores like nothing else on the market.

5. An old t-shirt (one that is in the Goodwill pile or should be in the Goodwill pile) is the best way to apply.

6. Await for it to soak in - usual minutes in dryer climates. Maybe overnight in damper climates. No heat is required.

7. Apply a second coat if you item still looks thirsty.

8. Consider trying a small amount of conditioner in an inconspicuous spot on your item.

9. Do not use leather conditioner on suede.

10. Don't forget your leather belts, leather bags, leather shoes, leather wallets, leather gloves, leather jackets, leather pants, leather car interiors, and don't forget grandpa's favorite leather chair!
